ABC Auto Electric
Tucson, AZ 85712 ![]() (520) 886-2749 ![]() By Wade R. from Tucson, AZ Posted Jan 28, 2011 I took my car here after someone told me he did decent work at a fair price. My 93 Dodge Stealth was having some issues starting. After 15 minutes of him looking at the car the OWNER of the shop told me I needed a NEW ALTERNATOR AND a new STARTER! and parts and labor would be $800!! I normally would never of had that much cash on a moments notice, but I had just received my tax return and went ahead and had him do the repairs, using ALL of my tax return.I get the car back and it fires right up.Everything seems fine...The next day...same problem...car wont start...Just click...click...click.I take the car back and he digs into it again and says...ok,its the wiring harness from the ignition thats bad,so he replaces THAT at aroud another $100 and car starts and seems fine...car starts fine for a few days ,then goes right back to not starting....I have recently had a mechanic look into the problem and he found that the electrical connection/connectors TO the ignition/key module is bad.I seriously doubt I EVER needed a new starter or an Alternator (ABC assures me I did!!...lol).I definately wasn't about to take my car back to this CROOK and loose even more $$$.When my new mechanic looked at the starter and alternator,he said they were not of a QUALITY brand as ABC had told me they would be better than the OEM parts as they were counting my money!! BEWARE of ABC ELECTRIC,unless you like throwing your cash away...PS ....They also own ABC Radiator! ![]() By CritterKitti from Tucson, AZ Posted Apr 4, 2010 DO NOT GO TO THIS "REPAIR SHOP"!.!.! I have first-hand knowledge that this "repair shop" owner rips people off. Starters are his biggest rip-off. He has the office person call a parts supplier to get a price on the part for that particular vehicle. Meanwhile he checks his supply or goes to a junkyard and finds one that will work - cleans it up, paints it and installs it, then charges the customer some random amount plus 2 hours labor and calls it a day. One day, very recent, a customer came in for a starter. There just happened to be a car in the yard (waiting for an engine) just like the one that came in. He took the starter from the one car and put it in the car that just came in then charged the customer $175.00 for the part and 2 hours labor (@ 55.00/hr). He puts in old/used switches, he recently rebuilt battery cables and charged for new. I can go on and on but there's not enough room.
