Tucson, Arizona has a beautiful view. No matter where you are in the city, there is usually a beautiful blue sky overhead and mountains somewhere in the distance. There are things to see outdoors, such as the Sabino Canyon or the Madera Canyon and there are a lot of museums to visit, covering the history of the area to the history of aviation.

If you like to be outside, or see natural elements, the Kitt Peak National Observatory is one place to include on your travel list. It is still in operation and they offer guided tours of the facility and allow visitors to see what is happening in the sky.

The Mission San Xavier del Bac, one of the first permanent structures in the city, is still standing today. There are tours to the public where you can see Spanish architecture and carvings from the 1700s, when it was originally built. The El Presidio Park, the second oldest structure in the city, is open for cvistors to stroll and see where and how the Spanish army lived behind its walls.

The Reid Park Zoo contains animals from regions all over the world and is meant for kids and families to enjoy. There is also Catalina State Park, where walking and hiking trails cover rugged terrain and grassy knolls, depending on your experience.

If visiting inside is what you prefer to the hot and dry air of the desert, there are a lot of museums to choose from. The Pima Air & Space Museum has one of the largest collections of airplanes in the entire world. There are airplanes from various countries and ones that flew in World Wars and in military training operations. There are also different commercial airplanes in the museum, showing the history of commercial airlines as well.

The Children's Museum displays historical and current exhibits featuring Indians, art work, hands on activities and fun things to do, especially for kids. When you need a break from all of the history and education, the Children's Museum will provide a fun time. It might even still present a history lesson, but in a way where the kids aren't bored.

The Arizona State Museum has one of the largest collections of artifacts in the region. It is also the oldest museum itself, being opened in 1893. It showcases the different Indian tribes and cultures that occupied the land near the river for the last 4,000 years. Pottery, beads, baskets and other artifacts used during their time is on display for visitors.

Art is very popular in Tucson, whether it is old paintings by native Indians or recent drawings by artists. The University of Arizona Museum of Art hosts seven centuries worth of paintings, sculptures, drawings and handiwork crated in and around the region. The displays are changed often and feature different tribes or artists in the area regularly.

There are also golf courses around the region for people who like to be active in their visit during a vacation. Many different small parks have trails and courses marked for people to hike, bike or walk in order to see the great scenery in Tucson.
